I'm one hour and thirty minutes away from winning my sister a cool birthday/xmas gift on eBay. Now I get to watch it obsessively to try to better my chances. I have eBay addiction issues in spurts - I haven't played with it in a month and a half, and now in the past three days I've bought two books and a lot of knitting notions (stitch holders, bobbins, cable needles, needle toppers, etc.). Evil, I tell you. I should make a more comprehensive Xmas Wish List - that usually keeps me from buying things on the list, at least.
Choir last night. Our small chamber group is quite nice (or, as Tim puts it, it isn't as painful as the big group). The voices blend nicely, especially in the sopranos. There were five of us, and it was such a different sound than when there are more (we had about 12 for the large rehearsal). There were probably four altos, 4 tenors, and 2 basses, and the balance was pretty cool. I'm impressed at the size of our regular choir - we were at 30 or so yesterday, which feels like a lot. We had at least 6 second sopranos, though you wouldn't know it since they all like to sing first, except when it gets super-high. I managed to hit the A twice in Carmina, which is twice more than usual. My voice was hitting G pretty nicely, especially in small group, so that was exciting for me. After rehearsal, Tim and I went to Chevy's and had margaritas. We've decided that we're far more mellow when we get home from choir if we take a margarita break, so maybe that'll become a new tradition. I closed my first bar in years. Heh. Chevy's apparently has last call at 10:15 or so.
