kismet09I feel one step behind myself today, which is not a good way to start working with the new students. Luckily, all of the honors kids go first, and they're mostly not messed up in terms of scheduling, so it hasn't been as difficult as it will be a couple of weeks from now. I'm supposed to meet with the Biology grad student who's advising, but she hasn't wandered down here yet. I feel badly for students majoring in Bioinformatics (a mix of science and computer science) -- they have to take intro bio, intro chem, and calc, all in their first semester here. Ugh.
I spent too many hours lying down and reading this weekend, and when I woke up my back was in serious pain. Stupid scoliosis. I took an Aleve and a hot shower, which made it bearable, but still not much fun. No more spending 16 hours in bedat a stretch for me :)
The weather is heating up - I think maybe it knew that it was solstice this weekend, and feels like it needs to meet some expectation that it hit 90. I rolled into work in a tank top, khakis and sunglasses, feeling like I should be roaming a boardwalk somewhere instead of being in a professional setting (I brought a sweater to wear, so I look a little more like a grown up right now).
