lately, my body seems to be trying out all illnesses that make it uncomfortable to sit at my desk. first, there was the pilonidal cyst, then the chills that sent me home last month, and now a lovely thing called folliculitis, which basically caused welts to break out all over my upper body. it's pretty agonizing to sit in a chair right now, but here i am at work.
also, my grandmother was back in the er last weekend, and will probably be sent home on oxygen with hospice care. this may or may not result in a trip home before christmas. if it does, i really hope it's after finals, and i can just stay in chicago and take some grief leave time instead of flying home, and back, and then driving back to the parents'. this seems unlikely based on what i hear from home - i'll probably be making two trips - sometimes i wish i were closer to chicago.
other than that, things are fine. the end of the semester is in sight, and things get easier for me in the spring. i'm hosting a scrabble tournament on campus on 12/5, and next week is blissfully short.
