elevator dreams

Whenever I get in an elevator in my dreams, it behaves in unexpected ways. It might go sideways and diagonally, it might stop at random floors but refuse to stop at mine, the buttons might start lighting up at random, it might plunge almost to the ground and stop just short. After many years, you would think the dream me would have figured out that it shouldn't trust elevators.

Yesterday's dream involved being at the mall, trying to find my sister, but not being able to get to a different floor because the escalators, as soon as I approached, would change to go the opposite direction of what I needed. I finally gave up on escalators, located an elevator bank, and experienced many of the problems listed above. I've had a lot of weird mall/shopping center and transportation dreams lately.
