First, we sent them away to a kennel while we had our floors redone. Hardwood floors mean it's harder on dog joints to lie down, and also more slippery. Then, we've been locking them in the kitchen and basement while the rest of the floors get redone. Plus, we're packing everything up. They're pretty neurotic at this point. They follow us around constantly, lie in the bathroom, etc. Soon, we'll (hopefully) have strangers tromping through looking at the place, which probably means they'll be relegated to the back yard for hours at a time. I try to tell them that it'll all be okay, but I don't think they believe me.
