well, a peach is an improvement on peach-flavored chapstick, at least.

Nutella is one of the best foods ever invented. I let my children eat it for breakfast everyday. I figure, it's made from nuts, and chocolate is loaded with antioxidants, and if they eat it on whole grain toast they are doing WAY better than those kids who get PopTarts handed to them on the way to the bus stop.

Nutella ingredients: 20.4% Hazelnut/cocoa

I didn't know much about Nutella, I looked up the ingredients.
But maybe on whole wheat still better than poptarts?

http://www.productwiki.com/nutella/

13% + 8.7% + 7.4% = 29.1% so is the bulk of that 70.9% sugar/oil?
(Vanillin is an artificial flavor.)

Ingredients
sugar
vegetable oil
hazelnuts (13%)
skim milk powder (8.7%)
fat-reduced cocoa powder (7.4%)
soy lecithin emulsifier
vanillin flavoring

Mmmmmm....sugar....

I'm sure a thin layer on whole grain bread is not unhealthy. Or I will tell myself that. I used to bake things like soy flour banana bread with wheat germ to feed my children. But then I got a job and got lazy about nutrition. (They are still very healthy and have never had cavities in their 8 and 9 years!)

Thanks for your post on Nutella - I had heard about it but I didn't know anything until now. It is huge in Europe!

I will make my own version of Nutella and see how it tastes:
Hazelnut butter and cocoa are mandatory.
I will experement with skim milk and soy milk.
It looks like vanilla flavor is needed (natural of course.)
Maybe I will try adding honey, molassas, or even pure cane sugar.
For a health bonus, I will see if ground up flaxseeds can be added without impacting the taste or texture.

This will be fun!

Wow, now I want to live with you too.

I can't cook with beans, as JD can attest. I almost murdered him with my suffocating pancakes.

However, I can easily enjoy KFC food :)

Er, wow, how'd worth beans become with beans in my head?

I must be hungry. Time for some coconut gelato.

I third the living with you sentiment. I don't want to be too forward, but do you think Katy & I can marry Tim & You. You guys can cook us dinner and we can...???...clean your toilets or something. Plus you get a sweet baby out of the deal with no obligations toward care. Mill it over.

i have always been in favor of the idea of a Scrabble commune. Intermarriage would be completely optional.

Tim's applying for a job at UIC - if we end up there, I promise we'll have dinner parties :)
