My little sister is going to visit Carnegie Mellon this weekend! I'm so excited to be helping her with this college search stuff. Part of my Cmas present to her last year was 'The Performing Arts Major's Guide to Colleges and Universities.' She has very respectable test scores, a good repertoire of theater work, and rather crummy grades. I'm pulling for a nice, small to medium sized, liberal arts college, while I think she's leaning towards a conservatory type school with an arts focus... we'll see what happens :) Any alums or people who know people who know about Carnegie Mellon, please let me know what you think of the school! She'd be midway between home (Chicago) and here, and that'd be pretty cool, and probably mean more miles put on my car than need be... she's also looking at Cincinnati Conservatory/U of Cinci, U of the Arts (Philly), and a couple of other between-here-and-there schools, which is pretty cool to me.

Home soon! I love Wednesdays - being out of my office makes the time go quicker.

oooh yeah! good plan - i will stalk him when i have some free time today! i will also send the american idol link on to her, but since she only likes opera and musical theater, i don't know what she'd think about having to sing pop music :)

I happened in here by way of Epha's journal.
At any rate, I live in Cincinnati and trained at CCM as a child/teen for ballet. I do know that CCM/UC is pretty challenging and a good place to musical theatre majors and theatre in general. And of course dance :)

i can't wait to see how her visit to Mellon went -- thanks for the thoughts on CCM! i know a bunch of people in the area (i went to grad school at Miami of Ohio), so it'd be nice to have her there :)
