Dreams and Wakedness

Around 4:30, I had a dream that I was having three teeth extracted from my mouth, one from the left side and two from the right. First, an anaesthesiologist came in, rubbed something cool on my arm, and then gave me a shot that didn't hurt at all. I wish all shots were like that, but I have a feeling it's just dream shots that can be soothed with cool gel stuff. Then, the dentist came in. She looked a lot like Margaret Cho. She came in and said "so, are we all ready to have those tonsils removed?" I was getting woozy from the shot, but did some protesting of some sort, and she said something like, "oh, it's your teeth? I guessed wrong! Good thing you're still awake!" Um. So, she raised and lowered my arm, and, satisfied that I couldn't feel anything, started the procedure. A voice-over came in and talked about what exactly she was doing, and my dream-self perspective was more or less watched the procedure from chair-side rather than first person, although I could feel a bit of drilling, and taste the grittiness of something that was being used to seal over the spots where teeth were removed. The pain meds started to wear off and I felt a little numb and tingly, and then I woke up.
I woke up absolutely freezing -- shivering and teeth chattering. I was under all of the blankets (which currently means a flannel sheet, velourish blanket, and two down comforters) and I still wasn't at all warm. I pulled the blankets up around me, and tucked the dog in next to me, and managed to go back to sleep. I didn't even hear the alarm go off this morning, which means that I woke up at 6:15 and was out of the house by 6:29. Erg.
We got to work before the coffee place opened. Sad for me. I'm counting down the minutes. I'm liking the early days though -- I get a lot done from 7-10. And I saw a nice sunrise this morning.
