Since I am afraid of breaking my work computer, I no longer store music files on my hard drive. Instead, I've downloaded iTunes, and listen to the radio through it (although I know there are probably more elegant ways to listen to the radio). I listen almost solely to WUMB, a Boston-based folk station. Every day, I get confused by the weather and current events reports. Today, there is a chance of snow according to the radio, which, in my head, equates to a chance of snow in Maryland. Then I wonder how it's going to snow when the temps are supposed to be in the 40s, and then I remember that this is Boston radio and I feel silly for a second. I have been doing this for over a month now. Someday, I hope that it stops.
Yesterday, Joey took pity on me and my being stuck at work for too many hours and Tim-less, and picked me up and entertained me. We went to see Constantine, and then he cooked dinner, and we watched Garden State. Constantine was a C- sort of movie -- watchable, mostly laughable, a couple of decent lines here and there, a smattering of eye candy. Eh. I can see it on MST3K some time in the future, but then, I've never actually seen MST3K, so who am I to say... bottom line, it's a renter, at best. Watch Hellboy instead. Same vein of movie, at a more elevated level, if you can call it that, and the female character is more palatable (and I don't even like Selma Blair that much). Better yet, watch the Incredibles. I dozed on and off during Garden State, but I didn't hate the ending on this second viewing as much as I did the first time around.
Anyway, enough babbling. I was actually being vaguely productive this morning.

Date: 2005-02-24 06:32 pm (UTC)I will have to check out WUMB. Did you ever try WFUV out of Fordham? I think it's quite good. But they always seem to have basketball games on when we're driving somewhere on Sat. afternoons. Basketball has its time and place and that's NOT on my folk station. They actually do other stuff, too, like a Celtic tunes show. But mostly just good folksy stuff.
Oh! And speaking of music, Steve (from Nness, the one who organized that quilt that you contributed to and who gave it to me for my bridal shower) sent me a pile of mix CDs that John had and one of them was one you'd made, like 3 years ago. Good tunes. I didn't know you liked the Beautiful South. They're one of my fave bands.
