snow weekend in review

Listening to NPR this weekend, they announced that my campus was closed on Saturday, much good that did me. So close to a snow day.
I spent most of the weekend indoors. Tim went running on Saturday morning (because he's crazy), and while he was gone, I rearranged the living room so that I could watch the snow out the window from the couch. So once again, my couch is an island in the living room, but this has many benefits: it doesn't cover up any of the heating vents, I can see out our window, I can put the spinning wheel in such a position that I can look out the window while spinning, I can't throw my coat on the couch right when I come in, and instead am more likely to hang it in the closet, and I can't see the dog staring at me balefully from the doorways (the dogs aren't allowed in the living room).
Over the course of the weekend, I:
Knitted: 50 rows on an afghan that I've been meaning to start for a year; the beginnings of a sock; a few rows of a shawl.
Spun: half of the Corriedale fleece that I dyed while in Chicago.
Watched: Fargo; Queer as Folk season one, episodes 16-22; Buffy, season seven, episodes 11-15.
Ate: homebaked brioche; soup with potatoes, onions, celery and bread; bacon-wrapped dates; take-out Chinese food (among many other things).
Drank: lots of hot cocoa with Irish Creme (among many other things).
Did Chores: put away clothes, did some dishes, vacuumed.
Played Scrabble: Tim even got to win one of the six or so games.
I also read part of the paper, romped outside in the backyard with the dogs, napped on the couch, listened to OperaCast, started work on a mix CD, and generally enjoyed watching the snowfall. Also, found out that Wally, a dog that I rescued, who lived with my grandparents/great-uncle, was finally put down. He was old, and obese, and I'm surprised he lived as long as he did. But hey, he got to eat rice and hot dogs and other unhealthy-for-dogs things, and got a lot more love than he would've had I left him, abandoned, some 15 years ago.
[edit (rather than posting again): I also waited in line at the grocery store for an hour on Friday, at 8:15pm no less! Good thing I got there when I did or all of my organic milk would have been gone. I can't believe I didn't think to bring my knitting.]
And now I'm back in my office, and it's very cold. Last week before classes start, so it's time to get things in order...
