mmmm speed scrabble

For the first time in a long time, I won all three games that I played at Scrabble Club last night. The lowest of my three scores was a 396, and one of my games popped above 400. I found TEASING, tINDERS, SOONEST, CuRSING, and one or two other bingos. I got to use a couple of obscure words (JAGG, IKON), and just felt good about the games. The third game that I played, Tim was on his way to pick me up, so we agreed to play as if we only had 15 minutes on our clocks instead of 25. I usually play this fast anyway, but it's partly because I can think on my slower opponents' time, so it was a lot of fun to play more quickly and instinctively. I think I used 10 minutes of my time, and my opponent had 23 seconds left on her clock. I'm carrying my word book around, hoping to absorb some words just by its proximity. Yum.

Date: 2004-11-23 04:05 pm (UTC)there are at least two other tournament players on campus, so i can always arrange an event of sorts.
there's also www.e-scrabble.com, where I regularly kick Marc's butt at Scrabble, and would be happy to do the same for you ;)
Don't do it!
Date: 2004-11-24 08:25 am (UTC)I have beaten her exactly once (with help from Tim) and that was the first game we played. Since then she usually kicks my ass by at least 100 points every game we play.
But I am learning more so I guess there's a good side to it.
