This week doesn't really exist
Apr. 18th, 2007 10:10 amDisconnected thoughts follow:
Big Scrabble thing this weekend with friends (and a tournament mixed in there, but the highlight was hanging out with friends). Big work conference beginning tomorrow. I don't know how I've squeezed any work in between the two, but I've managed. It's a too-busy time of the year at work not to. But, in three weeks, the students will be gone, and I will be pleased.
I went candlepin bowling for the first time this week. What a bizarre game. I scored a 74, which is actually not a horrible score, as low as it sounds. The highest recorded score ever is 245 out of the possible 300.
My conference is in Boston, which is lame. The best part of conferences is going to new cities and trying new restaurants and staying in fancy hotels. I decided to treat myself to a hotel room for a night (school won't pay for local conference hotel stays) -- I pricelined a four-star for $110, and will be staying in the Intercontinental. Sweet.
Chocolate of the 40-55% cocoa variety is the ideal darkness for me. The chocolove dark chocolate with orange peel and Vosges Naga bars are my current favorites.
