I am home. I was supposed to have a dentist appointment and be home today. Instead, the dentist made a pre-emptive strike on my appointment, and someone called the house around 6:45 to tell us. At that point, I was awake and could've easily made it to school, but every school in my county and all surrounding counties are closed today, including UM-College Park, and I couldn't convince myself that leaving was worthwhile or necessary.
Tim is out running in the snow right now. It was barely flurrying when he left, and now it's coming down more determinedly, and the currents that swirl it around hint at a decent amount of wind. More power to him, I suppose. And there's a tasty slice of provolone sandwiched between two olive-oil-misted corn tortillas as a reward when he returns. Hopefully there will be no falling and dying.
I knitted until I thought my hand would fall off yesterday, but now my sweater is done, save for finishing in the ends. What to do next? At a yarn party this weekend, I saw a sample of a scarf done in simple garter stitch, but it alternated two rows of variegated silk-blend with two rows of complementary boucle, and I loved it. I want to do that. I just have to find an appropriate worsted weight to show off my boucle. I hope there's something in my yarn buckets.
All I want to do at home is tidy up my tracks on my Nomad, and plan knitting projects, and watch Buffy (finished season two, moved on to three, am on disc two). Instead, I'm trying to convince myself to write a report based on incomplete research that doesn't answer the questions that I want it to answer. Frustrating.
Tim's back. Staved off snowy death one more time.
