I suppose I'm no longer in my mid-20s. When do you have to give up that distinction anyway?

Spent my birthday at the Ren Fest, listened to Tim sing, hung out with Paula and Marcel and Marc, did a lot of knitting, got myself a custom made coin (sun on one side, dragon on the other), some ribbon chips and rib tips, and very little sun exhaustion, which was a nice change. Went home, Tim promptly passed out (singing and being up early and standing for most of the day took a lot out of the poor boy). I played some Scrabble on the computer, read reviews of Puccini La Boheme recordings (I will be going here as my present from Tim and must prepare). Tim rolled out of bed around 6:45, and we headed for dinner at Bethesda. For whatever reason, he was confident that there was a Heritage India in Bethesda, which there is not, so we went to Grapeseed instead. I had a mixed green salad, roasted corn chowder with fried scallions, and pulled baby pig with a corn/peach salsa thingie and peanut mole sauce, which was very tasty, and the paired wine was a great complement. Split lemon curd-filled crepes with Grand Marnier-infused strawberries for dessert, and, for the second time, were unimpressed with the dessert. Still, good night, much fun was had, and I still made it to work this morning, only slightly bleary.

The ban from online shopping has been lifted, so I purchased myself the Puccini recording (with Solti conducting), Kings of Convenience's "Quiet is the New Loud," Kate McDonnell, and Pink Martini, all but $5 of which was covered by a gift card, so it was barely like shopping online, anyway. I may have jumped the gun and purchased a bit of yarn last week as well...

Today is Scrabble, and also my radio show, to which I should be going in a few minutes. Tune in from 11-12 Eastern whatever Time we're on right now, at www.wmbc.umbc.edu!

It is possible that I messed with the meme answers a bit: )
So the CD I made on my work computer was wonky, and I had to rely more heavily on rotation music than usual:

St. Monday - Billy Bragg
South Dakota - Bellwether
Goodbye West Coast - Matt Sharp*
Alabama Blues - JB Lenore
Talking Union - John McCutcheon and Corey Harris*
Last Train to Nuremberg - Joel Rafael Band*
California Stars - Billy Bragg
Heartache for Everyone - Indigo Girls*
Hackensack - Fountains of Wayne*
Androgynous - Replacements
Brule La Meche - Lo'Jo*
Easy Morning Rebel - My Morning Jacket
Goodnight Moon - Shivaree*
Work Song - Nellie McKay*

* = on rotation at WMBC

Luckily, some of the rotation songs are also songs that I own, so [livejournal.com profile] chompyheather and I knew enough of them that we cobbled together a show pretty well.
I have been trying to organize all of the files I have on various disks here are some of the titles of recipes that I've saved over the years: )
