kismet09I suppose I'm no longer in my mid-20s. When do you have to give up that distinction anyway?
Spent my birthday at the Ren Fest, listened to Tim sing, hung out with Paula and Marcel and Marc, did a lot of knitting, got myself a custom made coin (sun on one side, dragon on the other), some ribbon chips and rib tips, and very little sun exhaustion, which was a nice change. Went home, Tim promptly passed out (singing and being up early and standing for most of the day took a lot out of the poor boy). I played some Scrabble on the computer, read reviews of Puccini La Boheme recordings (I will be going here as my present from Tim and must prepare). Tim rolled out of bed around 6:45, and we headed for dinner at Bethesda. For whatever reason, he was confident that there was a Heritage India in Bethesda, which there is not, so we went to Grapeseed instead. I had a mixed green salad, roasted corn chowder with fried scallions, and pulled baby pig with a corn/peach salsa thingie and peanut mole sauce, which was very tasty, and the paired wine was a great complement. Split lemon curd-filled crepes with Grand Marnier-infused strawberries for dessert, and, for the second time, were unimpressed with the dessert. Still, good night, much fun was had, and I still made it to work this morning, only slightly bleary.
The ban from online shopping has been lifted, so I purchased myself the Puccini recording (with Solti conducting), Kings of Convenience's "Quiet is the New Loud," Kate McDonnell, and Pink Martini, all but $5 of which was covered by a gift card, so it was barely like shopping online, anyway. I may have jumped the gun and purchased a bit of yarn last week as well...
