monday morning bleariness
Aug. 23rd, 2004 11:05 amMmm... my body is sore today. I'm starting to think that the poison ivy that I've had on my right thigh for two weeks is really some sort of gangrene that causes muscle stiffness, but really, it's probably that I biked a fast seven miles two days ago and a moderate 6 yesterday, plus worked in the garden, plus I'm old. I will be 28 in 20 days. Definitely not mid-20s any more.
The morning glories are all down now. They were starting to die, and didn't look as pretty twined around the front porch railings as they did. The garden is also weeded, the lawns mowed, the trees pruned, and the crops harvested. Two eggplants, four tomatoes, and a handful or two each of pole beans and scallions. Between that and the Farmer's Market goodness (haricots, eggs, blueberries, asian pears, cucumbers and peppers) we will be eating well.
The blinking voicemail light is taunting me.
Why couldn't the women's volleyball team play like that for the rest of their matches?
My sister arrives tomorrow and I can't wait! I only wish I could take more time off of work, but Monday is Orientation, and Sunday there's a welcome week program that I have to oversee. I'll at least try to take some short days.
