hobbies and ice cream
Apr. 28th, 2004 11:36 amI don't think that I really like Ben and Jerry's Dublin Mudslide, but since it was free, I can't complain too much. I expected the line to be ridiculously long at Arundel Mills -- turns out it was about 10 people. So different from Chicago. And, I staked out the dude that made the biggest scoops and managed to get him to make my ice cream, so I had a more or less full size cone, while most of the scoopers were giving out baby sized portions. Hoorah!
I think I am going to be elected to be Corresponding Secretary for choir. I really don't even know what that entails -- I think it's mostly answering emails and sending messages out to the group. So, I now knit, spin, play Scrabble, and am a secretary. I feel like I should learn to ride a motorcycle, or play a sport or drink beer or something else stereotypically male to round myself out (although most of the top Scrabblers are men, I think the majority of players are female).
After choir last night, I have no voice today. This is no good when I have to advise for hours and hours.
Ah, lunch break. I've been writing this entry 6 words at a time since I got here at 9:30. I am going to sleep for two days once we hit graduation. I love how empty campus gets for those few days before summer school and summer camps start up. It's so peaceful, and there are no lines for the overpriced commons food. And I can clean my office. No mouse in my sticky mousetrap yet, but I have an aneurysm every morning checking for one. It'd be nice to reclaim that drawer.
