fortune plango vulnera

Mmm... singing with 180 voices, 2 pianos and percussion in a church with nice, high ceilings. Good for the soul, less good for the voice. Lots of chamomile with honey for me. I'm somewhat relieved that Carmina is almost over, but I wish I had more opportunities to rehearse with the big group, just for the sound -- it's so different to have both choirs (we're singing with the Annapolis Chorale) sing together. The sound is so wonderful, and I can sing as loud as I want and not stand out in a not-good way from the rest of the group. I could hit the A with no problems singing full voice, and I can barely hit it when singing with the smaller group. Yum.

If anyone's interested:

my voice is tired and i messed up my knitting and had to frog back and now am too exhausted to get my stitches back on to the needle. 2x2 rib in the round is hard to get back on to needles easily, i've decided, especially at this hour. tim brought me a therapeutic bubble tea, so at least there's that. i can't wait for weekend downtime. i think we're going to trek out to the baltimore farmer's market so that i can get some fresh kettle corn. mmm.
