Mmm... singing with 180 voices, 2 pianos and percussion in a church with nice, high ceilings. Good for the soul, less good for the voice. Lots of chamomile with honey for me. I'm somewhat relieved that Carmina is almost over, but I wish I had more opportunities to rehearse with the big group, just for the sound -- it's so different to have both choirs (we're singing with the Annapolis Chorale) sing together. The sound is so wonderful, and I can sing as loud as I want and not stand out in a not-good way from the rest of the group. I could hit the A with no problems singing full voice, and I can barely hit it when singing with the smaller group. Yum.

If anyone's interested:

I adore this piece, and I'm sorry I won't be able to make it. (My mom is visiting for the wkd.) Try not to talk too much and I bet you'll be fine.

I wish I were closer.. I'd love to go. Singing Carmina Burana with the U Choir is one of my most memorable undergrad experiences. *sighs dreamily* : )

That really does sound wonderful and I'm sorry I'm about 2900 miles too far away to make it. Take care of your throat and enjoy yourself.
