whee lights
Sep. 20th, 2003 02:50 pmJust back from school, where I had to give a presentation to prospective Honors College students. Poor things, just starting their senior year of high school and already having to hear about how to get in to graduate/professional schools (the topic of my presentation). They also fed us lunch - chicken cordon bleu, of sorts. Nothing like cream-based lunch entrees. I feel a little comatose now.
Last night, we ventured out of our house to try to find some friends who seem to be MIA. We were supposed to meet in Rockville, but I'm guessing they have no power and/or their cell phone is out of juice and/or they decided they don't like us :) and we never did manage to find them. Instead, we ate dinner at the Mongolian BBQ place in Bethesda, which was one of the few parts of Bethesda with power. The place was okay, especially for $13.99 all you can eat, and the fun of putting everything together and watching them cook it. It didn't compare, however, to Flattop Grill, which has much better variety in ingredients, and different ways they'll prepare your food (soup, salad, mu shu, etc), and just seemed classier.
We're apprently part of a small segment of Pepco-run P.G. county that never lost power. We're storing food for some friends, and are otherwise becoming a refuge from darkness :)
