blue toes!

Tim (
mthgeek) went to fill a couple of prescriptions at Target yesterday and brought back some nail polishes for me. There was a blue one perched atop the thermostat, teal sitting on the mirror, and metallic greyish silver chilling in the fridge. It's like easter eggs, except they last longer and eating them would be bad. So today my toes are blue, and I like staring at them while I walk.
I am done advising for the day/week. Two more weeks left. I have seen 90 students and have 135ish to go, although probably less than that, as some will transfer, drop out, or otherwise vanish from my radar. I'm getting excited about working with the pre-meds again, although next year will be even better, since many of them will be students that I advised back when they were freshpersons. That's one benefit to staying more than two years -- I will actually get to see some of my first years graduate.
My friend Margaret and her dog, Sadie, are coming to visit this weekend. You may rermember Sadie -- she and Cassie had a couple of brawls this summer. We're hoping they've mellowed since. We still don't plan on letting them play together much. Mar, Tim and I are going out for beer and fries tonight. I consider this the highlight of my week so far. I haven't had a flammable beverage in a long time (i.e., since I can remember -- so at least a month or so), so this will be nice. Tomorrow we'll head to Maryland Day and then to Bethesda, and Sunday is Farmer's Market and the march, if I'm not absolutely exhausted.
