So we got home on Saturday night, which was really much better than coming in on Sunday in the afternoon, which we usually do. Neither of us could handle more nights on Rochelle's futon, and we were starting to feel guilty about leaving our dogs for so long. All of the cherry blossoms seem to have started blooming while we were out of town, and welcomed us back to Maryland.
Today, we went to Farmer's Market (cheese, apples, eggs, the usual) and had brunch at Savory, rationalizing that we were still, technically, on vacation, and therefore could eat out. I spent much of yesterday straightening and knitting. Did three or four loads of laundry, cleaned out the pantry, hung out in the yard, worked 15 rows of my sweater. For dinner, I made baked ziti with fresh mozzarella, and some grapefruit sorbet for dessert, which we ate with Le Petit Beurre biscuits. Breaking out the ice cream/sorbet maker is another of the joys of spring.
