saving memories

I just saved all of my entries from Oct 29 - Dec 31 into a Word document. I've decided that the easiest way to do that is to copy them first into notepad, so they lose all of their annoying formatting, and then back into Word. I did lose lots of graphics and formatting, but it's easier to put that back in than to convert everything from tables to text. Two months of journal is 42 pages long, 11 point Verdana, single spaced, with one inch margins. Who knew I was so prolific? Granted, much of it isn't my own writing - there are some memes and quizzes, and there are plenty of line breaks with just dates on them, but still 17,729 words isn't too shabby. I want to go back and save my whole journal this way, but if I go back any further, I have to access it one day at a time, and that takes a long time. I also have it in lj backup, but I like having it as a text file, to access as if it were a book. Eventually maybe I'll paste it all into a notebook to save that way as well.
