this week is a full week
next week has thanksgiving in the middle
then another week of advising
then a week of quiet, more or less, since advising will be over
then a four day week, and then I leave for Chicago on Friday!
then two full weeks of lounging about in my favorite town

that makes it seem more manageable.

plus, things to look forward to: Thanksgiving with Tim's family, Tim's Men's Choir concerts, our PGCS concert (December 14, 3pm, in case you want to mark your calendars now), Scrabble tourney/year end party, office holiday gathering, and hopefully at least a couple of other holiday-ish festivities before leaving town.

With this past week behind me, I feel much more relaxed. The choir concerts were amazing -- I haven't sung with that many people probably ever before, and the sheer volume, and being able to sing out as much as you want -- I was even able to hit my As and Bs in full voice, which was great fun. Even our small group pieces sounded decent, which was a relief. Now we have three weeks to work on music before the next concert, which is daunting, but most of it is Christmas music, which means the sopranos mostly get to sing melodies, and that's easy enough.

This weekend outside of concerts was also great. Sunday morning Farmer's Market in Baltimore looked a little sketchy in terms of location, but there was definitely good stuff. I have a big bag of kettle corn, some creamed honey, apples, broccoli, squash, and apple cider to show for the trek into B'more. There were also more food vendors serving meal stuff (waffles, omelets, curry, pulled pork, etc.) which would have been good had I been that hungry, and not so focused on eating kettle corn :) It was fun wandering about with Tim and [livejournal.com profile] blackendstryfsh, both at the market and in Fells Point, and it helped me come down from the craziness of the concerts.

Came home, knitted and knitted, and watched Down With Love, which is wonderfully cute! I was happily surprised, and am also surprised that it didn't get better reviews when it was actually in theaters (or maybe it did get good reviews and I didn't notice). It was delightful. Highly recommended for brightening your day. I also watched all the bar scenes and singing scenes in Coyote Ugly, another one that makes me smile.

We've also menu planned for this week: italian pie thingie on Saturday, enchiladas last night, random leftovers tonight, stuffed squash tomorrow, pasta carbonara on Wednesday, pizza on Thursday, spaghetti squash on Friday, unless we go out. Sent Tim to the Safeway 'cause he's better at not spending ridiculous amounts of money, and he ended up spending more than we do when we go together :) but we had a long list, so I suppose it's reasonable. I love December for being a three paycheck fiscal month (which really starts this Friday, but I call it December). Life is good.

If by any chance you have a free moment while you are in Chicago, perhaps we can really make it work this time and meet up for tea/cocoa/coffee. I'm still in Oak Park, right next to the blue line and have more ability to be sans baby now than in the past.

I'm sure I will have some free moments, and we should definitely get together. We'll make a plan once it's closer to then :)
