Fall Cleaning on an Indian Summer Day

We're having the second large-ish gathering of people we've hosted so far at our little house, so I've been trying to clean, but instead I've been getting sucked into important but time consuming mini-cleaning tasks, like organizing all of my cds. I've recently been leaving stacks of 10-20 by each cd player in the house, and have been amassing quite a collection of burned cds that I never manage to catalog in a reasonably way. So, of course, I chose yesterday to work on this project, which I did for about 2 hours. I've got everything into its proper case, if it had a case, and at least into a more manageable pile otherwise. This is no small feat when you have over 1000 cds.
I've done 6 loads of laundry today, and cleaned up the craft room enough so that it isn't scary (except for the giant paper cutter, which is scary in its own right). I've caught up a bit on nervousness projects:
-YarnZine! --> done! just needs to be bound and sent
-fabric for handmade --> sent to the wrong person. sigh.
-CDs to Nikki --> in the to-be-burned pile
-Knitted stuff to zLana --> waiting for an envelope
-Birthday goodness and encyclopedia entry to EssEssEss --> sent and not started, respectively
-20things --> I have most of my materials
You've gotta start somewhere... I've also cut out about 100 pieces of 2.5" x 3.5" cardboard - I've been hoarding it for some time, and finally sat down and communed with my papercutter and got it done (while watching the Buffy in which Giles is turned into a demon. High quality).
Tonight is the party, tomorrow Tim goes to PA for a choral concert, so I'll have the house to myself, and can hopefully move through some more stuff.
Real life is tiring right now. I saw about 30 students last week, which really isn't very many, but I'm so used to just being administratorly in my office without interruption that I'm still trying to readjust my mindset and schedule to accommodate. I brought home 30 more files to read through this weekend so I'll be ready for the next round. I suppose this only lasts til December, so it isn't all that bad, right?
