wooliness

For those of you who haven't syndicated my knitjournal, here is my current yarn stash, minus a few works in progress and the stuff that I've spun myself:

Happily, it's Lent now, and I have given up shopping online, as I did last year with great success. I am also knitting away on my afghan, which will reduce the preponderance of purple yarn by a bit, and I sent a box of yarns home to [livejournal.com profile] neuroticllama and have another one ready for [livejournal.com profile] pixiecrinkle, as soon as I figure out her address. I have 8 skeins of Crystal Palace silk tweed in baby blue/pink that I will never use, so those will go on eBay (unless someone here wants them -- 18-20 st/4 inches on 5 mm (US 7-9), 125 yards per skein, all of it for $35? or make an offer).

Blah. Today: finish a new handout for my students, go to a meeting, sit in my office. Tonight: make CD cover for Rochelle, finish sorting my yarns, pack for NYC. It's one of those days where life feels stagnant. Maybe I should eat lunch outside, or something.

Just sent you an email with my address...

I might be interested in the silk tweed--can you post a picture? It depends on the blue color--I need some blues and pinks for a project in my head.

it's in the middle, left-hand tupperware in that picture -- it's pretty pastelly, but not quite as washed out as it looks under the flash here.

Doesn't look like the right blue unfortunately, so I'm gonna pass.

you give up stuff for lent? is it just because it's a convenient time period?

my family always did it (none of them are catholic. i don't ask).
