home again
Dec. 23rd, 2007 07:52 amI'm in Chicago. The drive was uneventful - I did a lot of knitting, we listened to The Metamorphosis, courtesy of librivox, we stayed at Howard Johnson's, I had a Happy Meal so that I could give my dad the Bionicle toy.
We showed up yesterday and found out that we were charged with buying and assembling a bed for ourselves, which meant a time deadline for getting everything done (ie, whatever time we wanted to get so sleep). So, we spent about 5 hours dismantling an old loft, purchasing mattress and box spring, and cleaning out enough space to fit the bed into the back bedroom. My muscles ache today, but I'm going to guess it was 17 hours in the car and the manual labor - I can only imagine how much I would hurt had we been sleeping on the air mattress on the floor like we usually do.
