holiday knit ideas?

Now that it's getting cold, I'm definitely back into a knitting frame of mind. I'm playing around on Ravelry, I'm looking through books, I'm shopping online (I was on a yarn diet from january to september - I'm not sure how I made it), and I finished the mini-wristers, featured here.

I'm charting out my holiday knitting, which will be interspersed among the craft fair production knitting. So, I'm drawing on your wisdom -- for knitters, what gifts that you've made have gone over well with others? For those of you who don't, what would you covet, if a knitter were crafting you a gift?
