back to the earth
Aug. 11th, 2007 01:06 pmfor those of you who aren't keeping track (and really, there's no reason to be keeping track), i stepped away from my normal life to spend seven days riding in a prius and playing scrabble with some fantastic company.
i used to love road tripping for the opportunity to eat all kinds of things i don't eat at home (fast food, soda, etc). this time, i was pining for local produce by day two.
since getting home, i've eaten muffin tops with fresh blueberries (baked by the boy); handmade pasta with brie, farm tomatoes and parsley; and granola with yogurt. tonight will be corn cakes made with freshly-picked corn, plus a salad of roasted beets and carrots, also acquired in our CSA share.
the scrabble commune, once it has been established, must have a chicken coop, and a huge garden.
