Dec. 28th, 2006

Started the morning lounging a bit with Tim before he left for CA, then headed out with the mom for mocha and scones at a nearby coffeehouse, which we took to go. Drove downtown, where we started the morning with a shopping spree at NY and Co (3 pairs of pants, a velour jacket, a shirt and a sweater for me, all on sale). We went on her downtown errands (jewelry jobs for picking up and dropping off), grabbed a quick snack, and she dropped me at my hair person, where I got highlights and a much better cut than I've found in Boston. My hair is back to looking the way that I think it should again. Did a quick round of browsing through stores, and then off via bus to see my sister, [livejournal.com profile] u4ic's apartment, and have her take me to a movie. I saw her place for the first time, where she lives with her lovely boyfriend, and then the three of us set out to see Night at the Museum, which was just as I expected it to be, which is holiday mindlessness with some good giggling and fun. I particularly enjoyed the little tiny cowboys, and jab at Brokeback Mountain. Mom indulged me by picking me up at the sister's place, we got thai takeout, including my favorite veggie summer rolls, and a taro bubble smoothie. I arrived home at 915ish, ate, pajamaed, talked to [livejournal.com profile] mthgeek, and geeked around. Interspersed throughout was studying my five letter scrabble words. I've gotten through more than I thought I'd be able to, but still not as many as I'd like, as is always the case. Tomorrow: more shopping, packing, laundry, and my last full day in Chicago before heading to Albany and Scrabble.
