cat experiment - mixed results

So, we sent the cat on to a new home today. As cats go, this was probably one of the best versions we could've found. It was clearly not scared of the dogs, it was friendly, and it was cute. It had personality, and seemed fairly intelligent. Unfortunately, Jasper never quite got it together. He couldn't stop staring at it, didn't seem to be eating often, and was just too paranoid about it. Plus, we're both, apparently, allergic to cats, so that tipped the balance in favor of going back to a feline-free existence.

tonight - butternut squash lasagne with spinach bechamel sauce and ricotta; bread
yesterday - baked ricotta cakes with squash and cheese; brussel sprouts; glazed carrots
Saturday snack - summer rolls (first ones I've ever made!) with peanut sauce
Saturday dinner - malai kofta in red sauce; rice; lavash

the haul from the CSA on Sunday - four squash, 3 lbs or so of carrots, 2 lbs sweet potatoes, a stalk of brussel sprouts, three different cabbages, kale, bok choy, 5 pounds potatoes, bunch of turnips, 6 or so beets, two heads of lettuce, 3 leeks, 6 red onions, bags of cilantro, spinach and mesclun, and probably other things I'm forgetting.
