where did I go?
Jul. 28th, 2006 04:40 pmI think I've been writing posts in my head recently and not typing them up, because I apparently haven't posted in days. I have also completely lost track of the date. I had no idea it was this close to August. Happily, I've spent much of the time when I haven't posted (or been writing posts in my head) getting actual work done. This is in part because I have a busy weekend of crafting and Scrabble and won't have my catch up time, and in part because I somehow hit some inspiration that helped me write. Of the 85ish letters of rec (these 1000-1500 word things I keep talking about) that have to be done, there are less than 30 to go. I can delegate a few more to my part-time writer, and a few are for students who have fallen off of my radar, which means in actuality, I'm awfully darn close to the end. It also means that I've written about 45000 words this summer so far, which is kinda cool, even if it's all confidential stuff that I can't share with much of the world, and I don't even know if peope like. But, my students get into med school, and so it can't be all bad.
What else... we made a tasty cucumber salad for dinner last night, with brown sugar/soy dressing and peanuts (when I say we, I mean that I looked it up in a cookbook and told Tim to make it). I went to Providence today and visited Andy, who does my job over at Brown, and it was nice to be able to speak in the same language with someone for awhile. Also ran into one of my former residents back from my residence life world, who has since come out, started a doc program, and lost a good 150 pounds. Go him.
Also, I'm currently yearning for the midwest. It's an odd thing.
