Hopped a plane with the boy yesterday and here we are in Maryland.  Had Los Portales for lunch with Heather, and dinner at Paula's beautiful wedding.  The wedding was a good reflection of the couple - it was a beautiful site for a ceremony, all out in the garden at Mrs K's, just far away from traffic to forget that it was nearby.  Tasty appetizers and lots of good wines of different varieties while they did some pictures, then an even tastier dinner afterwards.  The restaurant wanted the wedding to wrap up by 10, and it was definitely winding down by then, and seemed like a good amount of time for the festivities.  There was an afterparty, but we are old and so we came back, hung out with Nadine for awhile, and passed out from the sleepiness of travel and wedding and weekend.

Today we'll head to farmer's market in Takoma Park and have our beloved scones that are one of the things we miss most about Maryland.  It isn't just the scones (altho they are tres tasty), it's also the ritual of going to the market every Sunday morning.  It'll be good to be back for a visit, even if there's no reason to purchase produce (I'm tempted to carry back some rosemary seedlings on the plane, even though I know there are plenty of good ones back home in MA).  I had a dream about my old job at UMBC. I didn't think I'd been gone long enough to be having flashbacks.  I think we'll lunch at either Mandalay or Five Guys, and dinner is still undetermined.

Now I just want to know what's going on at the Scrabble tourney that I'm missing this weekend.  No one is posting very comprehensive updates. Sigh.
