So, after feeling restless and not very useful last night, and getting nauseous from the oil smell that lingered (and still lingers) after making latkes, I retreated to my bed at 9pm (a good hour before Project Runway even started, but take heart, since it's on eighteen times a week, I'm sure I'll be able to indulge in my guilty pleasure).
In bed, I wrote to
lunatopaz, listened to the rain, clipped pieces out of a few magazines, wrote a bit in the journal, and was asleep by 10 or so. Unfortunately, that meant I was up at 5:30. Grr. I'm all for being a morning person, but not a pre-sunrise person. Plus, my back is wonky. I'll pop under a hot shower soon.
This morning, I made coffee cake muffins (basic muffins plus a strudelly brown sugar/walnut/butter/cinnamon mix for the insides and topping, from How to Cook Everything) and unloaded, loaded and ran the dishwasher. I plugged in the cordless phone and answering machine (we've lived here for almost a month and not bothered -- this illustrates the infrequency with which we use the land line), I drank my first cup of coffee, and read the ep synopsis of Runway (the suspense piece isn't that important to me when I actually watch the episode). Now I think I'll get back on the bed and paste some things into the journal, and then maybe make it to work early for a change.
