scrabble and stress dreams
Aug. 2nd, 2005 08:43 amI finally made it back to Scrabble club, after a two month absence. I'll be sad to leave the group -- they're quirky and fun and darn good Scrabble players. I think the time off did me some good -- I played by instinct last night rather than word knowledge since I haven't studied lists in a long time, and it felt a lot better. I guess I overstudied for a tournament or something, 'cause I was feeling pretty burned out for awhile. In any case, I won two last night, including one where I topped 500, and in the game I lost, I broke 400 and found GESTURE as a double-double for 90. Other bingos I played: REENGAGE, MOUTHING, RANDIER, and one more that I can't remember. There are six clubs in MA; the one in Boston meets at a police station, which is slightly disturbing to me. I think the Cambridge club may be the way to go -- should be near my commuter rail line.
We're having a yard sale this Saturday. I dreamed that I overslept for it and people were angrily knocking at my door. Ugh. I've also had a stomach ache for three days, so today is all fruit and veggies and tea (plus a little peanut butter, for protein). We'll see if that helps.
