the farmage haul
Jul. 3rd, 2005 12:18 pmWith our twentysomething dollars, we came home from farmers' market with a dozen eggs, a head of lettuce (picked this morning, according to the sign), broccoli, baby carrots, sour cherries, blueberries, apricots, a variety basket of squash, red garlic, a baguette, and two scones (which didn't actually make it home since we ate them in the car). The cheese guy says they're going to have their tasty garlicky cheese next week (the cows eat the garlic greens in the fields, and it imparts this tastiness to the milk that then goes into the cheese). Mmm. We also stopped at Safeway on the trip home and added whipping cream to the groceries, so that I can have blueberries with fresh whipped cream. Double mmm. Tonight is grilling, last night we got lazy and went out to Franklin's (yay leftover ribs for lunchy tomorrow), the night before that was balsamic glazed steak with caramelized onions. I have lots of meat left over in the fridge. I am not complaining.
Tons and tons of dyeing done. We must've gotten through three or four pounds of roving, and a dozen skeins of yarn. Everything is still drying outside. For the first time in awhile, I got my mind completely off of work things and was able to concentrate on the colors and the rinsing and the trying not to permanently stain my kitchen counters. Sadly, that doesn't last long, as I'm sitting here today and trying to get some writing done...
