Today is grad student commencement. Lots of robed people wandering around campus. Undergrad commencement has been moved off campus, which makes me kinda sad. I like watching everyone be excited (even if it will be raining). I like to see what they decorate their caps with. I remember barely anything about my undergrad ceremony, although I remember going to Max's Opera Cafe in Sac afterwards. I remember that I brought a water bottle in my robe sleeve to my grad ceremony, and that most of my grad class actually showed up. I would like a doc robe - they're so much nicer in quality. When Tim gets one, I will wear it around the house. Maybe I'll even wear it grocery shopping once or twice.
In non-related news, I finally have an iPod. She's 40 gigs. She came with 20 gigs of crap music, some of which I've kept, and a little of which I'm sad that I can't transfer back to my hard drive. It'd be much easier if I could use the auto-sync iTunes feature, but that would delete the remaining bit of music that it came with that I'd actually want. It was a big headache in the acquiring: purchased from eBay, apparently shipping got fouled up, emails didn't get through, resulted in my filing a complaint with paypal against the seller, but it is now all settled, and I am trying not to think about it. My iPod has a pretty purple silicone skin, and seems to work well enough.
I only have to be in the office til 2 today, then I am going to the library to pick up books about faroese shawls, and then I'm going to watch an online teleconference, and then I am going biking. Big plans to combat the raininess, I guess.
