This year more than in the past, I can tell that my summer isn't going to be any easier or less hectic than the academic year. This makes me sad. I must find another 10 month contract someday. Or part time work. Or something where I'm not responsible for 158 different things. At least Tim will be busy, too, with that one last paper.
So far today, I've chatted with faculty, processed declaration of major forms, worked with students on transferring courses from various places, given permissions to a number of students for two different labs, re-proofed a publication, finalized the logistics for a Friday meeting, filed med student paperwork, met with four pre-meds about their application processes, and otherwise hopped from task to task like a crazy person. I can't wait to get home. I have yarn waiting to be washed and finished, and a ball winder to finally get set up, and laundry to fold, and dogs and a husband to pet.
