Did I miss a memo or something?

Were students given some special day off? Because of my four appointments scheduled so far this morning, only one has managed to show up. This means that I've had an hour of unexpected free time, punctuated by a few minutes at regular intervals wondering why no one is showing up, which has resulted in my getting very little done, except for a sign for the craft fair that lists approximate yardages for knitting projects (soon to be posted to my knitjournal for feedback) and catching up on my reading (aka surfing). I get a little confused when my students collectively fall into a black hole.
