a food post
Jan. 12th, 2005 12:43 pmbecause i haven't had one recently (i should really have a food icon).
One of the things I'm trying to do better this year is cook from cookbook recipes. I received a number of cookbooks for xmas: Cook 1.0 for Vegetarians, the Gourmet cookbook, the Cook's Illustrated New Best Recipe Cookbook, and I think there was one more... I have also been trying to be better behaved about using the food that we purchase at the grocery store, as well as the box of Harry and David pears that Tim's family sent us. Here are the menus from our time back in Maryland:
Friday: Saffron Cream Pasta with Parmesan and Peas (plus bacon for me) - from Cook 1.0
Saturday: Indian food with Nicky and Paul
Sunday: I don't remember...
Monday: Panini on freshly-baked foccacia, with brie, apples, and dried cranberries (and bacon for me!) - from Cook 1.0, plus some potato soup
Tuesday: Quesadillas and Soyrizo Rice (a creation that involves soyrizo, mixed with rice and peas) and refried black beans
Today: Caesar Salad
Tomorrow: evening orientation = we eat at school
Friday: Coconut Corn Curry Soup - from Cook 1.0
Today for Orientation lunch, we had a breaded chicken parmesan-like thing, and a surprisingly tasty cheesecake.
For Restaurant Week this Sunday, we're headed to Ten Penh.
I like food.
