Orientation today and then another four day weekend. It turns out there is no Orientation on Monday, so I am going to chain myself to the computer and start getting these stupid med school composite letters written. I feel like a huge slacker, and it doesn't help that the person who's supposed to be doing the bulk of the writing is an even bigger slacker than I am. I will also be going over all of the incoming science major transfer students' transcripts and providing them with a recommended schedule for the upcoming semester. We have four days of Orientation next week, so that task will probably take me the better part of a whole day this weekend. Whee.

My carpool will be taking a 8:45am class on Monday/Wednesday. Tim will be going up to campus to teach a 8:45am class on Tuesday/Thursday. I am destined to either become a morning person, or embrace my inner commuter and buy myself a car. I think I'll just up the coffee quotient and call it good. I've been getting up around 6:45 recently anyway, so I'm getting into practice. Thank goodness for Tim's baristabilities -- my iced mocha is perfect this morning.

I'm also forcing myself to read a little bit more right now, because I've been neglecting it. I'm reading the Social History of Knitting, paging through the current Washingtonian Magazine, and am about to start the curious incident about the dog book, whose title I don't exactly remember. I also put Sleeping with Schubert on my amazon wish list after reading about it in the Books section this weekend.

My mypoints.com account is up to 5700 points. I can afford a $50 bloomies gift certificate, which is tempting, but I want this money to stretch as far as possible. Anyone else on the awards program have recommendations?

I didn't realize Colin Farrell was my age.

I don't have to work at table 1 today, which is exciting. It means I don't have to be nice to nearly as many people ([livejournal.com profile] chompyheather, when it's lunchtime, I will be at computer #45).

Every day walking into the library, I make mental note of the same book (Medieval Folklore, and I think I spelled that wrong). I've been looking for a similar visual landmark for my way out of the library, and I think I found it yesterday. The book is called "American Masculinities" (or something like that), but there's a library sticker over the 'e' so it reads "American Masculinitis." It makes me smile.
Eating in the basement of the library is unhealthy. They feed us foods that should not be consumed as lunch foods - they're more dinner-like, especially for me, since I usually eat cheese, apples, hummus, and pita for lunch. All of these hot lunches can't be doing good things for me.

I have been thinking about the food I want to eat this weekend. I think it'll go something like this:

Dinner tonight - frittata with chicken, basil, spinach and broccoli
Snack tonight - bubble tea after choir (tim promised)
Friday breakfast - iced 2% mocha, leftover frittata
Friday lunch - sub and chips at Potbelly's
Friday dinner - white pizza from King's Park Plaza
Saturday breakfast - coffee, maybe some vanilla yogurt with fresh cherries
Saturday lunch - somewhere in Alexandria, where we'll be wool shopping
Saturday dinner - kabobs with chicken and pineapple and rice
Sunday breakfast - coffee
Sunday lunch - Silver Diner hamburger and fries
Sunday dinner - caesar salad or tacos
Monday dinner - perhaps a pastry and coffee at College Perk
Monday lunch - leftover whatever's left over
Monday dinner - maybe more leftovers, or some chicken...
