fiscal months
May. 14th, 2004 10:57 amI budget our bank account partially based on number of paychecks, and partially based on months. Since we get paid 26 times, and there are 12 months, that means two months have 3 paychecks, whereas I usually budget as if we only have 2 paychecks. This makes for two very happy months. One is December or January, which barely really exists, since the extra money ends up going to holidaying. The other is coming up in June this year. The fiscal month will actually run from May 21-July 1, so it is an extra long month, but even so -- three paychecks!
I have resolved the following:
-No buying DVDs or CDs (WW Season 2 and Big Fish will have to tide me over, as I just broke down and purchased them on Overstock.com in a moment of weakness).
-No buying knitting-related things unless they have a specific purpose (such as my size 6 circular that I must have for my sweater).
-Tim gets $250 to put towards motorcycle parts.
-Best Buy gets an extra $100 towards the computer payments.
I am sure that there will be more resolutions forthcoming. I am resolved to go either to Disneyworld or on a cruise in Canada before we (theoretically) move out of Maryland next summer. Maybe it'll be an anniversaryish trip. I have a travel bug right now.
