k8knits today...
May. 6th, 2004 10:35 amI finally went back to my sweater last night while knitting at the new yarn shop in Bowie. I've almost finished the increases up the sleeves, and then just have to knit another 6 inches or so, decrease, and finish the thing, and I'll be able to move on to summer sweaters. I also did some kool-aid dyeing last night, to try to match hues of purple/blue/pink yarn for my multi-directional scarf, but alas, it came out a lot darker than the original stuff. I guess it'll just be a 4' scarf, or it'll have two very distinct colorways going across the middle. I stopped knitting with enough yarn on the first skein to blend the two, but I'm really not sure if it'll work or not. Grr. I did a bit of spinning, and took pictures, but left the camera at home. I'm still trying to think up ingenious ways to build a swift and a lazy kate.
Also, I have a lot each of acrylic yarn (purple/blue/multi/etc) and crochet hooks (with Ripple Afghan book included) for sale on eBay -- they're pretty cheap right now if anyone's interested. I didn't add the book to the crochet hook auction til late, so it's kinda hidden in the description - maybe that's keeping the price down. I'm just trying to declutter.
The house is a mess. I plan to spend the better part of the weekend cleaning and reorganizing. Even lysol wiping the top of the microwave this morning made me feel a little bit better about the state of the house. Poor, neglected house.
Someone here at work is on meds for cicada-induced anxiety. oy.
