warning: laptop updates are likely to include typos 'cause i'm no good at using the keyboard, and i don't like going back to fix every word.
so after waking up last night at 10ish, we were wide awake (as will happen after a four hour nap, although tim got up around 7:30). I read through a bunch of sweater patterns, and have cobbled together my own knit in the round sweater, which will be larger at the hips and have some fitting on the way up. i'll split it at the sleeves and knit the rest back and forth and sew it together, but i really didn't want to have to do all of the finishing, so i'm pretty pleased that i put together something that can be knit largely in the round. that said, i worked on it for about 3 hours today and still only have about 5", which is a little frustrating, but i'm also knitting around on 190 stitches, so i suppose that has something to do with it. plus, that means i'm about 20% through with the sweater.
also last night, i finished reading the third artemis fowl book (so fun!) and whined about being hungry (since we'd eaten dinner at 6). tim shaved all of his hair off, which i found/find highly entertaining (i'll try to post pictures soon). i managed to make it through the night without the grilled cheese that i was pining for, even though i didn't fall asleep til around 2:30.
up at 9 and feeling fabulously well-rested, we headed to dc and spent the whole day there, including farmer's market (cheese, pear cider, buffalo jerky, and 2 skeins of hand spun, hand dyed wool, from two sheep named sadie and zelda), cosi with paula (for the first hour of knitting), front page for lunch, and two hours at teaism (for the second and third hours of knitting) where i met the lovely
anneball and got to unload some of my excess yarn on fellow stitch n' bitchers. mmm, days of knitting and snacking and goodness.
