Feb. 3rd, 2004 10:30 amNew artist of the day: Linda Dickson. She's folksy and has a nice, smooth voice. She popped up on my internet radio and now I'm listening to audio clips. I can't decide if she merits $15, though, especially since I just spent a bunch on CDs (specifically, Vienna Teng, Kate Rusby, Norah Jones and Indigo Girls, in addition to my Columbia House shipment). Has anyone else heard the CD all the way through so they can help me decide?
I had a fabulous night last night. Left work around 4:15 with
chompyheather. We tried the new DuClaw Brewery in the Bowie Town Center. What an odd restaurant. All of the booths have high walls around them so that you can't see any other tables. The BBQ pork sandwich was good, and the fries were acceptable. For the first time in a long time, I couldn't finish my order of fries. It was bizarre. Went to Old Navy and picked up a coat and a black belt for under $30 total, and then off to Scrabble. I won all of my games, which means over the three weeks of club this year, I've won all but one game so far. I won one by 301. That rarely happens. I only got one of the blanks, too. I bingo'ed on BURSTED and GORIEsT in that game. I was still in some Scrabble zone, and I'm no longer intimidated by playing everyone who was so much better than me at this time last year. Got home at 10:15, did bench press, curls and incline press, went upstairs, watched half an hour of West Wing season four, and crashed.
And now I'm at work, despite the ice and snow and temptation of staying in pajamas all day long.
