Saturday through Monday recap

Was up at 6:45 to drop Janelle at the airport this morning, and got into work at 8, which is an hour early. I actually managed to drink my whole cup of coffee this morning, and am still a bit sleepy. I used most of my extra hour trying to catch up on livejournal, and answering lots of student email (emptied 100 messages from my inbox and I still have 199). I'm dreading choir tonight. I hope I manage to find my upper range again soon.

procrastinaaaation

I feel like a student. I've had three months to write a book review for one of my professional organizations. It was due Monday. I got a reminder email today to get it done and promised to have it by next Monday. I still have to finish the book. Sigh.

Why do people insist on knocking on my door multiple times when it says on my board that I'm not in, and on my calendar that I'm unavailable until 3? I know that I need to set these boundaries and not talk to people (I'm actually doing work right now), but I still feel badly not just opening my door and helping students.
