Went into the big city yesterday and got plenty of walking in while the weather was still reasonable. We walked from the Metro Center metro stop, past the White House, through the Smithsonian's Frank Lloyd Wright leaded glass exhibit at one of the little houses-turned-museums, and to Dupont Circle, which was a pretty reasonable distance (about 16th and H to 19th and P, and then wandering around in Dupont). Had a wonderful dinner with [livejournal.com profile] minnaleigh at a little mediterranean place called Skewers, and then headed back on extra-full Metro trains home. Today's Tim's UM College Park Summer Chorus concert, so if any of you are interested in coming:

University of Maryland Summer Chorus
Patrick Walders, conductor

Now in its second year, the popular UM Summer Chorus -- comprising university students, community members, and advanced high school students -- presents Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass and Beethoven's Opferlied.

I'll be the tall Asian chick sitting stage left (aka on the right side as you walk in), knitting.
mowing the lawn reminds me of vacuuming. why can't vacuuming have a functionality similar to self-mulching? i'm not sure what that would look like, but it's so nice to know that my mulching is giving back to the yard, spitting out all the clippings. spitting out dust and pet hair would be a bad thing for a vacuum... maybe if there was an attachment that collected the dog hair and spun it into yarn for me.
