I've been logging everything I eat for two months now. Nothing like getting into the habit of doing something and then actually doing it. Some time soon I will do some sort of analysis of what I've eaten - maybe even see a nutritionist. This week, I decided to cut back on my carbs, and I've really felt like I had more energy. This makes me sad, since I love carbs so much, but it's good information to store for myself.
Today I'm eating strawberries and yogurt and chips for lunch. I'm almost able to tolerate Dannon's La Creme Vanilla yogurt, which advertises itself as 'incredibly mild and creamy.' It's definitely more palatable than most yogurts I've tried, but I still don't think I'll be able to eat all four ounces without my gag reflex kicking in. What is it with yogurt triggering it? Does anyone else have this problem with creamily-textured foods? I'm fine with flan, rice pudding, and things with a similar mouthfeel, but something about the vague sourness of yogurt sets me off.
Oh, how I wish that I was more attracted to bitter and sour tastes. I crave sweet and salty. almost exclusively (and, of course, that's where most carbs fall). I don't deal well at all with spicy foods, although I'm building my tolerance for Indian... but then most of the Indian food I eat is in tomato based sauce (like chicken makhani) or creamy sauce with fruits and nuts (like chicken korma) and therefore sweet, and also used as a vehicle to eat lots of rice and bread. Sigh. Is there a way to convince your body that it likes bitter and sour flavors more?
