(no subject)

I am home, I am sick, I had tea, I am watching Buffy. My days seem to all have the same themes, and they are very boring, disease-ridden themes. Boo.

I broke two needles on my sewing machine working on a purse. I tried to sew through 2 layers of cotton and a layer of denim. I was too lazy to run to the store and buy hardier needles, so it's my fault. I did make it through almost all the sewing before the second one broke, though, so I'll just finish it off with handsewing.

I'm not so good at using my sewing machine. I know my tension was off because there's holes in the back of the fabric, but I don't know how to fix that. Maybe someone else working on this altered bag round robin will go back and fix my errors for me. I'm not sure what else I'll add to this bag... maybe I'll embroider something on the back, or maybe I'll just send it on as it is, because I'm tired of trying to think of something useful to do to it. Or I could add some lace. Hm.

I should be more excited about going to New York this weekend. It'll be a nice change in scenery. I'll bring my camera so that I can play with it. I'll get to play lots of Scrabble and drink bubble tea. So much to do before then, though. Sigh.

[livejournal.com profile] raencloud, I hope I didn't pick on your resume too much. Let me know what you think... I can send you mine if you want to see it - I have it on disk somewhere...

SMG-a-thon

I have now watched every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, seasons 4-6, in order. They are on tapes, without commercials, labelled with episode names and dates. The eight hour tapes are great, because I can fit half a season (11 eps) on one tape. I still cried at each season finale, and laughed like crazy at the musical. And now I can rest, and just watch the current season, and life will be good.

Flower Drum

one of the bad things about being in charge of the budget is always having to worry about money. one of the good things is that tim can't complain when i purchase tickets to Flower Drum Song on broadway this weekend, 'cause if i say we have the money, it's my responsibility to have the money :)

it's been way too long since i've seen a show, and this is an original cast, and that means lea salonga, and tickets were on sale, so what can you do.

if this doesn't make me feel better, i don't know what will.
