Feb. 4th, 2003

My radio show starts up for the semester today at noon. It's a gray, rainy, fifty degree day and I want to play some happy rain music - any suggestions? Here's what I've got:

I Can See Clearly Now - Holly Cole
Little April Showers - Natalie Merchant

So yeah, any help you can provide in the next couple of hours...
I went to Scrabble club at Bowie's Barnes and Noble last night. I won 3 of my 4 games, two of the wins were 400+ points, and I bingoed many times: ANOINtS (65), LIGhTER (70), GhOULiE (74), DEBUTING (76), TAdPOLE (77), and lower case letters are where I used the blank. Great fun, but unhealthy dinner - a chai latte and a piece of coffee cake :)

Okay, the most recent 'students are dumb' story. Student just came to my office. Missed his first English class, went to what should've been the second one, no one showed up at the room. Has gone back THREE TIMES now, to an empty room, didn't contact anyone - teacher, department, me, until today. Comes in, and I ask him if he's contacted the English department to see if the room changed. "There's an English department..?"

I mean, come on people. It isn't that hard.

But that wasn't the point of the entry. Just a random rant that just happened.

Halfway through the show, the sun came out - it was quite lovely.
